There are many income opportunities on the internet. Making money online is a great way to supplement your income or become a stay at home parent. However, there is the challenge of generating website traffic to obtain referrals. Can it be done? Yes, I’ve been making money online for years. As a mother to 7 kids, it offered an excellent alternative to a full time job. I started earning income using free programs and free traffic generators. The question everyone always asks me is: “Where can you find people that may be interested in your MLM, home business or affiliate program?” You need to find people that are already looking for income opportunities. Where can you find these type of people?
Here are the five secret weapons I use for free website traffic to increase referrals:
1. Text ad exchanges are easy to use and offer free advertising.
Most text ad exchanges offer promo codes that will give you free solo ads, banners, traffic links and more. Newer sites offer upgraded memberships. Members earn points every time they click a link or banner on the site or read a solo email ad. These credits can be redeemed for advertising (or you can save time and purchase the advertising). This system gives the members an incentive to open your email ads and visit your site!
2. Traffic exchanges are great places to find referrals at no cost.
I’ve always had great success with traffic exchanges, specifically using banner advertising. The flashier the banner, the better the response. Don’t forget to take advantage of the text link ads too. Another point to consider is to find a traffic exchange that offers 1:1 surf ratio. ( You can also upgrade your membership to get this ratio.) Otherwise, you’re wasting a lot of time.
3. Safelists should be used effectively for free recruiting.
Which safelists do I use? Safelists with credit based mailers because they are full of responsive members. Members must open your email, in order to earn credits they can later use to email their ads. Write eye catching subject lines to get a better response.
4. Social media sites are an excellent source of no cost traffic and referrals.
Don’t underestimate the power of social media sites such as Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. Add your affiliate url to your social media profiles. Social media sites are indexed by search engines very quickly. By adding your url to your profile, you are also creating backlinks to it.
5. Forums are a great place to get targeted traffic.
First, find a forum is similar to your opportunity. For example, if you are involved with an affiliate program concerning golf equipment, you should use a forum geared towards golfers. To guarantee success, you should not blatantly advertise your opportunity. So, how do you get referrals? You use your signature! Write a snappy, eye catching ad with the hyperlink to your opportunity. Next, participate in every topic where you can offer friendly, helpful advice. Do not spam the message boards! Your account will be deleted. There are thousands of forums for every topic under the sun. Find about a dozen active forums and answer member’s questions. This also helps your backlinks!
